Plus other celebrity looks we’ve got our eyes on
Instagram has always been a source of major style and beauty inspiration for women across the globe, especially if the Instagram post in question belongs to a celebrity. In this week’s update of the best Bollywood celebrity beauty looks, Sonam Kapoor has emerged as our clear favourite with her French twist updo and striking black liner. We also loved Katrina Kaif’s bare faced selfie and Nimrat Kaur’s lit-from-within skin. Kareena Kapoor Khan, with her feminine, Indian makeup and sleek chignon was also a winning look. Here’s a complete breakdown of each of our favourite celebrity beauty looks from last week.
Sonam Kapoor’s elegant updo
Sonam Kapoor is known to experiment with her and makeup choices alike, giving us new beauty ideas, time after time. For an event with Benetton in Mumbai, Kapoor chose to put her hair up in French twist, with a thick black liner to highlight her eyes.
How to get the look
Spray sea-salt or texturising spray to add a wavy, beachy texture to your hair. Next, gathering your hair to one side, twist them and secure the ends inwards with the help of bobby pins, to create a French twist updo. Finish off with a setting spray to keep your hairstyle in place.
For the make-up, start with a clean base, using foundation all over the face and neck, and concealer below the eyes. Fill in the brows with a dark shade to create a strong frame for the eyes. Next, sweep some matte, dark brown eyeshadow across your eyelids and add a thick line of black liner. Top it off with two coats of mascara. To balance the strong eye make-up, opt for a subtle lip colour and cream blush on the cheekbones.
Nimrat Kaur’s Glowy Skin
If you prefer your makeup to be inconspicuous while also wanting a polished, glowy effect, Kaur’s beauty look is the one you should be stealing. Her dewy skin and peachy nude lips are perfect for a casual evening out. What’s more, her shiny straight mane adds to the elegance and lifts the whole look.
How to get the look
Start with a primer to prepare your skin, applying concealer under the eyes to achieve a flawless base. Use an illuminating foundation to achieve that lit-from-within glow. Alternatively, you can also use your regular foundation and add a drop of liquid highlighter on your cheekbones, nose tip and forehead to achieve the desired glow.
Brush your brows and fill in the gaps, if any, with a brow pencil. Next, apply a coat of mascara to make your eyes look fresher. Straighten your hair using a flat iron and finish off with a shine spray.
